umlaut collects mobile network performance and usage data in a worldwide panel of smartphone users. umlaut crowdsourcing solution is based on an SDK which is integrated into hundreds of Android apps and collects data passively on the customer devices in the background, the data collection is happening in 24/7/365 on such devices. The efficient data collection engine has allowed umlaut to create an extensive footprint world-wide that is unprecedented compared to other similar passive crowd sourcing solutions.
This aggregated data set provides the number of collected samples per selected zoom level or per provided point of interest.
A trial data set is available for download.
Typically, a data set would cover six months of data, a tile size of 250m x 250m and a temporal breakdown per hour.
