Machine Learning Predictions of Initial Claims based on Google Trends

This data contains the results of a machine learning algorithm that is used to estimate the Initial Unemployment Claims data (Not Seasonally Adjusted and Seasonally Adjusted) and available before the date of the official release.

The data contains the reference period end date, the central estimate, the standard error, the sample size, the final released comparable official statistic (when available and as revised by the issuer). The data is monthly and is revised whenever new survey data is available, which is approximately weekly and always before the official release date . The model was constructed on 03/19/2020 and forecasts up to and including that date should be viewed as in-sample. Data is not seasonally adjusted but is dynamically bias corrected. The units of measure match those of the officially reported data (which are numbers of people). The following is a sample:
