Verisk’s Distance to Coast — FREE sample of LOCATION® Distance to Coast

LOCATION® Distance to Coast Service includes two independent components: Ocean/Gulf/Great Lakes and Major Bodies of Water. In general, Ocean/Gulf/Great Lakes reflects the “open ocean” coastline, where the landmass meets an ocean or lake and there’s no doubt where the coastline is. Major Bodies of Water represents the parts of the U.S. coastline where the determination is a bit more complex, with the bodies of water reaching inland: bays, inlets, river mouths, sounds, etc. Verisk uses its proprietary Angle of Impact Measurement (AIM) methodology to determine how far inland to extend the coastline in these more complex areas.

LOCATION Distance to Coast service is available in the following 30 coastal states: Alabama, Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

This free sample is on Florida only.
